Southwestern Beef Burger with Lime Slaw

Uses: beef burger, burger bun, cabbage, green chilies with diced tomatoes, cheddar, lime

Ingredients:

  • 1 beef burger patty, about 4 ounces
  • 1 burger bun
  • 3/4 cup shredded cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons drained green chilies with diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons shredded cheddar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions:

  1. Cook the burger in a skillet or on a grill until it reaches 160°F. Season with pepper, cumin, and a small amount of salt.
  2. Toss cabbage with lime juice, a little oil, black pepper, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Place the hot burger on the bun and top with the green chili-tomato mixture and cheddar.
  4. Add a generous spoonful of lime slaw and close the sandwich.

Good for: A summer burger with mild chile flavor, melted cheddar, and refreshing crunchy slaw.

Optional: Serve extra slaw or cucumber slices on the side.
