Ingredients:

  • 1 whole-grain English muffin, split
  • 1/2 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 margarine packet, about 5 grams
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Tiny pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Toast the English muffin until lightly crisp and warm.
  2. Place the apple slices in a small skillet with the milk, cinnamon, and a tiny pinch of salt. Cook over medium-low heat for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring gently, until the apple is just tender and the milk has mostly cooked away.
  3. Spread the margarine over the warm English muffin halves.
  4. Spoon the warm cinnamon apples over the muffin and serve open-faced.

Good for: A simple, cozy early-autumn breakfast with warm apples and a familiar toasted base.

Optional: Add a few chopped clementine pieces after cooking for a fresh citrus contrast.
