Chicken Cheddar Open-Faced Toast
Uses: wheat bread, chicken breast, shredded cheddar, tomato, ranch
Ingredients:
- 1 to 2 slices wheat bread
- 1 tablespoon ranch
- 3 ounces cooked chicken, sliced
- 2 slices tomato
- 2 tablespoons shredded cheddar
Instructions:
- Cook the chicken by roasting, pan-searing, boiling, or sauteing it with your favorite seasonings until fully cooked, then slice.
- Toast the bread until lightly crisp.
- Spread ranch over the toast.
- Add sliced chicken and tomato, then sprinkle cheddar over the top.
- Warm in a toaster oven, oven, pan, or microwave until the cheddar melts.
- Add lettuce after warming, if desired.
Good for: A quick open-faced lunch that feels like a warm sandwich without much extra work.
Optional: Add a small spoonful of tomato sauce before the cheddar for a pizza-toast style version.
